Photo #1 my boots at the bronze plaque on top of Springer Mountain, the Southern terminus of the AT and my starting point.On the trail in his FootJoy garb!On top of Charlie's Bunyun in the Great Smokey Mountains. Elevation of 5600 feet.Woke up to 6 inches of Snow, March 24th. Hiked 14 miles slipping and sliding my way into a small town in Tennessee.Standing lakeside in Maine with Mt. Katahdin in the distance. Realizing for the first time in 4 1/2 months,  I was going to actually finish!On top of Mt. Katahdin, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. 40 lbs lighter than when I started 4 1/2 months earlier.Friends and son who hiked Katahdin with me to celebrate the completion of my journey!
